Comigo

Connect to college peers to collaborate on student ideas

Opportunity & Challenge

Our client came to Launch Deck after prototyping a platform on campus initially using Squarespace. She had already been working with student developers on a new custom site, but needed a team who could execute.

The challenge: Students live in campus silos. It’s hard to connect with other students to find collaborators on ideas & startups with aligned skills and interests.

Role & Skills

I led product management, experience design, and branding exercises for Comigo. I helped define user stories and prioritize product roadmap based on user need, business impact, and technical cost. I communicated requirements with our designer and developers. I outlined the user’s journey through flow charts, mocking up wireframes, and communicating with our brand/UI designer for final designs.

Approach

Product Roadmap & Development

I initally recommended low-cost or no-cost solutions to test assumptions quickly using Airtable to host a list of projects & people embedded into a website.

The client chose to proceed with a custom site after having initially used a low-cost option previously that didn’t fit her user’s needs.

We defined monthly sprints to design and develop iteratively.

Brand Compass Exercise

I guided the client through a brand compass that we could always refer back to in making product decisions.

Document brand purpose & values, user empathy map, and value proposition.

UX

Increase User Engagement & Community
We implemented a ‘Rewards’ feature for other students to give rewards to students based on their leadership, work ethic, or skills.
